The Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner, Alison Hernandez and I caught up recently. It was good to be able to raise issues such as road safety, rural crime, domestic violence and boosting neighbourhood policing across the constituency. I have signed up for a 'ride along' with the rural crime team, and hope to be doing this in the coming months. I've spent similar shifts in the more urban parts of the constituency but am keen to see the issues the local police teams are dealing with in our rural areas firsthand.
