The Arts are often the first to take the hit when schools face stretched time and resources. For more than 20 years Artsmark have helped support teachers across 4,000 schools in England with the tools they need to embed arts, culture and creativity across the whole curriculum. This has shown to improve young people’s learning outcomes, wellbeing and engagement with school.
South West Devon has eight Artsmark schools, Boringdon Primary School, Goosewell Primary Academy, Hele's School, Morley Meadow Primary School,
Plympton St Mary Infants and Old Priory Junior Academy, Sparkwell All Saints Primary School, Stowford School and Woodford Primary School.
I have seen the creative abilities of schoolchildren firsthand with a flurry of designs landing on my desk for the Christmas card competition. I look forward to judging the stiff competition and meeting with the winning artists!
