It's two years ago since the Plymouth Commission on Violence against Women was taking evidence about the prevalence of gender-based violence in the city and looking at solutions to help tackle it.
That made Friday evening even more remarkable as hundreds gathered outside The Box before heading off on a 'Reclaim the Streets' march hosted by Trevi Women.
We have come a long way since the tragic death of Bobbie-Anne McLeod and the Keyham shootings in 2021 which prompted the Commission. There is still much more to do, but Friday's event reflects the increased profile gender based violence has in our community and the work being done to tackle it.
