On Thursday I met with city council officers at the West Park Hill Consultation. As a former Chair of Plymouth City Council's Planning Committee, I have seen first-hand the positive impact that new developments which give proper consideration to the neighbouring community can offer local people; I also saw the negative impact that poorly conceived ones could have.
I am seeking assurances that proper infrastructure is in place for the 500-home development, including the impact on the local road network, parking, sewage system capacity and the provision of suitable bus routes.
The next stage will be a further consultation before Christmas ahead of a planning application being submitted next spring.
I look forward to learning about the outcomes of this current public consultation and encourage anyone in the Plympton area to contribute.
