We all know that the way we bank is changing, whether we like it or not. We also know that this has led to a reduction in the number of banks on the High Street.
That is why I am a huge fan of Banking Hubs like the one run by Barclays UK at the The Watermark, Ivybridge on Thursday’s between 9.30am – 4.00pm (closed noon -12.30pm).
I recently paid a visit to find out more.
Barclays Local is a flexible community presence in nearly 400 locations across the UK such as town halls and libraries, and banking pods. Customers can access a range of in-person support such as help with digital banking, financial reviews, balance checks transfers and bill payments.
There are also Shared Banking hubs being set up in communities around the South West. I am working with local groups to look at where these may be a solution to issues around lack of cash local banking and postal services in communities across South West Devon.
Thanks to George, Michael, Michele and Julia (pictured) from Barclays for sharing their work with me.
