Last month I visited Radiotherapy UK's drop-in in Parliament and pledged to campaign for better radiotherapy treatment and NHS care more broadly in Parliament.
Sadly, no Integrated Care System or region in England is meeting its 62-day cancer waiting list target. A third of patients are waiting too long for their radiotherapy.
Radiotherapy UK's report reveals that simply replacing radiotherapy machines that have exceeded their recommended lifespan could free an additional 87,500 appointments a year. This would make a huge difference. I urge the Health Secretary to act proactively and deliver better results for radiotherapy patients in South West Devon and across the UK.
