I asked the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what help she can offer charities forced to cut key services to pay for the Government's Employers' NIC hike.
Gables Dogs & Cats Home and Devon Mental Health Alliance have shared the negative impacts the ENIC rise will have on their service delivery. Gables will have to find £22,000 just to maintain their current services; DMHA have been left with no choice but to axe services which are needed to ease local NHS pressures.
I am pleased that the Secretary of State recognises these pressures but more needs to be done. I will continue to advocate for the charitable sector in Parliament.
