I shared Joyce's story in Parliament, a 97-year-old constituent worried about going cold this winter. While I was pleased to help Joyce claim her pension credit, it highlighted the vulnerable position the Winter Fuel Payment cut has left many pensioners in South West Devon.
As a bare minimum, the Government must help make pensioners aware of and claim what they're entitled to. I asked the Minister for Work and Pensions whether it is right that pensioners must rely on their MPs to help claim their pension credit.
