Today I asked my first question in the House of Commons.
I was called to ask a question to the Home Secretary during Home Office questions.
Each day, a government department takes questions in the House of Commons. As MPs we can enter a ballot to go on the list of those called or you ‘bob’ up and down to catch the Speaker’s eye.
I asked a question about male violence against women and girls and the role the report and recommendations of the the Plymouth Commission on VAWG could play on a national level. I’m determined to ensure that the voice I have had on these issues locally continues on the national platform of Parliament.
I am looking forward to meeting with the Safeguarding Minister in due course, and will report back on my discussions.
