Earlier this month, following my visit to St Luke's Hospice Plymouth, I attended Hospice UK's charity shop in Parliament. The UK's hospice sector is in the worst financial situation in 20 years with a fifth of hospices either cutting services in the last year or planning to.
St Luke's do incredible work in Plymouth, offering specialist end of life care both at home and in their specialist unit at Turnchapel for more than 3,500 people a year.
I am committed to supporting their work in Parliament and signed Hospice UK's open letter to the Minister of State for Care, calling for emergency funding to prevent further cuts and a long-term funding solution.
