I have been contacted by residents concerned about the forthcoming Woolwell to The George traffic scheme.
Upon being made aware of the start date of the major works, I contacted Plymouth City Council to request a briefing and further details so that I can respond to resident enquiries. I await that briefing.
I am informed that there are a number of drop-in advice session for residents:

If you are able to attend, you may find those advice sessions a useful forum in which to raise any immediate concerns with officers from Plymouth City Council.
I recognise that the project will significantly impact on the lives of constituents in Woolwell, up on the Moors and commuters using this stretch of Tavistock Road, and for that reason I will be seeking assurances from the Local Authority that they are listening to residents' concerns and doing everything they can to mitigate against the inconvenience.
Once I receive my briefing from Plymouth City Council, I will be in a better position to update residents, which I will do through my website and social media pages, as well as directly contacting those residents who have been in touch with me.
Action I have taken:
- I have asked Plymouth City Council to share the feedback and actions from their consultations with me
- Liaison with Councillor Nicky Hopwood
- I have requested a dedicated conduit through which I can submit resident concerns.
- Contacting the taxi licensing units at Plymouth City Council, West Devon Borough Council and South Hams District Council to ensure services continue
- I have requested resident feedback from the September advice drop-in sessions.
I do hope that this reassures you that I will be working hard in the interests of residents in this matter.
