This time last week I was on my way to Party Conference.
Party Conferences have so many facets. For me this year it was about connecting with organisations I hope to keep working with if elected, making the most of every opportunity and having fun with friends. I was privileged to speak at the Green Alliance reception about pursuing net zero as a candidate, meet Mrs Murty (aka Rishi’s wife), and connect with organisations like the NFU (National Farmers' Union) and National Trust, Women's Aid, Crisis, The Salvation Army and have many conversations about a range of key local issues.
I'm passionate about tackling our housing crisis, promoting local businesses, dealing with domestic abuse and doing my bit to make South West Devon an even better place to live and work. All the meetings I had at Conference related to our community and enabled me to increase my knowledge and voice in these areas.
All in all, a good few days.
