Last week, I had the privilege of inviting Plympton resident, Kate Tantam to join me at 10 Downing Street. Kate is a truly inspirational woman who works tirelessly as an Intensive Care Sister at Derriford and we joined women from all over the country at a reception.
Although we've known each other since the Sixth Form, we have reconnected in recent years as a result of Kate's work promoting the importance of rehabilitating those who have been in Intensive Care and the impact this has on their lives and on the wider NHS.
I've been part of a group with Kate looking to promote rehabilitation like this and working alongside her has been inspiring. She works so hard raising the profile of #rehablegends and I'm keen to keep supporting her if elected.
I had the privilege of introducing her to the Chief Secretary at the Treasury, Rt Hon Laura Trott MP and Kate was able to raise the need for funding to support the rehab work she and her colleagues do.
We also got to meet Larry the cat!
