I've been in Westminster today with Sir Gary Streeter MP to meet with the Post Office about future services in Plymstock. This meeting came after months of engaging with the Post Office and other local stakeholders keen to take on the service over the last few months.
We stressed how important securing a new Post Office is to local residents and they reassured us that it can often take 12-18 months to secure a new service. Given the short notice closure of the former Post Office at The Broadway, this has made their work harder.
The good news is the Post Office were delighted to share with us that in the last couple of weeks, they have had fresh interest in a potential new Postmaster and are pursuing these leads. They have agreed to keep us updated and we will keep working closely together to secure a Post Office for Plymstock.
In the meantime, don't forget the local services available in Hooe, Elburton and Oreston!
