Water pollution is felt most acutely in coastal communities in constituencies like mine. Everyone wants to see an end to untreated sewage being dumped in our waters. Local industry, tourism and nature all depend on it.
On Monday I met with South West Water to discuss the Yelverton treatment works, pollution in the River Yealm and Erne and the resilience of our sewage systems in Ivybridge, Plympton and Radford. Their briefings and site visits have improved my understanding of this important local issue. I will continue to meet with key stakeholders to find practical solutions in South West Devon.
