Delighted to welcome Ivybridge Community College to Parliament and host a Q&A last Thursday, sharing the rewarding and unique work of a Member of Parliament. Darcey, Jake, Emily, Millie and the rest of the Year 12 class were studying History and Politics (the same A Level as what I studied at Plymouth High School for Girls many years ago!); all asked great questions.
I'm really passionate about engaging young people with politics, hoping to play a very small part in passing on our nation's democratic values to the next generation. I regularly speak at school assemblies in South West Devon and am always keen to host classes in Parliament. I've quickly found that it is our youngsters that ask some of the toughest questions! I look forward to meeting with Sherford Vale School and Longcause Community Special School in the New Year.
