On Friday I met with Devon Wildlife Trust, The Woodland Trust and National Trust at Saltram. It was really helpful to learn about their needs from government to restore nature in our beautiful county. The first of many such meetings, I look forward to working closely with them on environmental issues going forward.
It is crucial that we work with farmers to develop our own farming policy outside of the EU. Farmers are exemplary stewards of our countryside but, like all businesses, they need certainty. Providing this was described as the single biggest difference that the Government can make. I will make this case at the Farming Budget debate on Tuesday.
